This post forms part of a series of forensic vehicle examiner posts, where we answer as many of the commonly asked questions we get as a forensic vehicle examiner. Our aim is to answer the most commonly asked questions and to dispel certain myths that lurk. If you have a question for our forensic vehicle examiner, simply drop us an email at enquiry@drivenforeniscs.co.uk

When is my MOT due?

When a car reaches the age of 3 or older, it is a legal requirement to have an MOT undertaken every year. There are some exemptions to this.

If you want to see when your next MOT is due, go to www.check-mot.service.gov.uk

If you want to find out if your car is exempt from an annual MOT, go to https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/vehicles-exempt-from-mot

Even if your vehicle does not need an MOT, it is always adviseable to have your vehicle properly maintained and regularly serviced.
