Site inspections are invaluable when it comes to understanding what occurred and why it may have occurred.
Collision scene visits, also known as locus visits, are an invaluable tool in understanding how a collision may have occurred. Not only does it provide an opportunity to take high quality images of the scene, but it is an opportunity to assess sightlines, road layouts, traffic light sequencing, pedestrian crossing points and more.
When driver's involved in collisions indicate the other vehicle, particularly motorcycles and cyclists, came out of nowhere, a sightline assessment can help us understand how likely that really was, or whether other factors maybe at play.
Determining whether a space was public or private at the time of the incident will always be a matter for the court, but that does not mean you cannot assist the court. We have researched previous court decisions, which allows us to attend the scene and identify relevant factors to assist the court in making their determination.
Incidents where pedestrians and cyclists collide large goods vehicles (LGVs/HGVs) and buses (PSVs) have the potential to be life changing. In those incidents, it is important to understand what the driver's of those vehicles could see, as well as what the pedestrians and cyclists could see. Our sightline assessment service can consider both of these factors.
