Does my car have an EDR?

As of July 2024, all new cars (including light commercials) will be required to have an event data recorder (EDR) fitted. Although this piece of legislation is new, manufactuers have been fitting EDRs to their vehicles for quite some time.

Some early adopters were:

  • Peugeot 107 (fitted from 2005 onwards),
  • Ford Fiesta (fitted from 2013 onwards),
  • Ford Transit (fitted from 2014 onwards),
  • Volkswagen Polo (from 2018 onwards),
  • Lexus IS (from 2000 onwards),
  • Toyota Aygo (from 2005 onwards)
  • Range Rover Evoque (from 2015).

To see whether your specific vehicle has an EDR fitted, you can visit the two websites below.

  • CrashScan ( https://secure.collisionsciences.ca/info/check_support )
  • Bosch CDR ( https://cdr.boschdiagnostics.com/cdr/sites/cdr/files/CDR_v24.0_Vehicle_Coverage_List_R1_0_0.pdf )

Alternatively, contact us with your registration number, make and model and we will find out on your behalf.
